Compassion and Tolerance

Updated: Nov 9, 2021

I have been thinking on the topic of compassion and patience for some time, probably precipitated by current world events—most specifically the impact the pandemic has had on the people around me. What does it mean and how does it impact my practice; why should it impact how I parent and husband or how I show up as a caring friend?

Life hasn't been easy for anyone and what I do know is that in those moments compassion and patience is most needed.

The other day a colleague of mine posted this except (below), a story of Nelson Mandela. It struck me immediately--I'm sure it speaks to many people about many topics. However, I felt his fundamental compassion and patience for humanity's flaws and challenges.

I'll just leave it here, that same story, for you guys to decide.
